By day I work in cosmetics production: batches, phases, homogenizers, scale-up. After hours I break and fix Linux. Lately that means chasing kernel panics with a Thunderbolt 4 dock, reporting them upstream, testing the fixes and writing down what I learned so the next person saves a few days.

Na co dzień pracuję w produkcji kosmetyków: szarże, fazy, homogenizatory, skalowanie. Po godzinach psuję i naprawiam Linuksa. Ostatnio oznacza to polowanie na kernel panic z dockiem Thunderbolt 4, zgłaszanie błędów deweloperom, testowanie poprawek i spisywanie wniosków, żeby następna osoba zaoszczędziła kilka dni.

• 2026-09 kernel drm/amd #5875 NULL pointer dereference in amdgpu on a DisplayPort/MST link through a TB4 dock. Traced to stream->sink->link; tested the upstream fix 8fa813b7fd1e for the 7.2 stable backport. Confirmed fixed in 7.2.9; issue closed. Dereferencja wskaźnika NULL w amdgpu na łączu DisplayPort/MST przez dock TB4. Przyczyna w stream->sink->link; przetestowałem poprawkę 8fa813b7fd1e do przeniesienia na 7.2 stable. Potwierdzone w 7.2.9, zgłoszenie zamknięte.
• 2026-09 kernel thunderbolt: tb_dp_dprx_work Reported a panic on dock disconnect to linux-usb; tested the fix series, now queued for 7.3. Zgłosiłem panic przy odłączaniu docka na linux-usb; przetestowałem serię poprawek, która trafi do 7.3.

• 2026-09 i18n paru: Polish translationparu: polskie tłumaczenie Finished the Polish translation of the AUR helper, left unfinished since 2021. Dokończyłem polskie tłumaczenie tego pomocnika AUR, porzucone w 2021 roku.
• 2026-09 i18n OpenSnitch: Polish translationOpenSnitch: polskie tłumaczenie Full Polish translation of the application firewall GUI (719 strings), submitted as a pull request. Also reported an issue I found while translating. Pełne polskie tłumaczenie interfejsu tej zapory aplikacyjnej (719 tekstów), wysłane jako pull request. Przy okazji zgłosiłem problem znaleziony podczas tłumaczenia.
• 2026-09 i18n fwupd: Polish translationfwupd: polskie tłumaczenie Translated the remaining 173 strings, including the new terminal interface, bringing Polish to 100% on Weblate. Przetłumaczyłem brakujące 173 teksty, w tym nowy interfejs terminalowy; polska wersja ma teraz 100% na Weblate.
• 2026-09 i18n passim: Polish translationpassim: polskie tłumaczenie Started the Polish translation of the fwupd team's local cache daemon and brought it to 100% on Weblate. Rozpocząłem polskie tłumaczenie lokalnego cache'u aktualizacji od ekipy fwupd i doprowadziłem je do 100% na Weblate.
• 2026-10 kernel thunderbolt: hang in nhi_pci_remove Reported a power-off hang in nhi_pci_remove after the dock disconnects during shutdown, found a reliable way to reproduce it and sent logs with thunderbolt debug. Fixed in 7.3 ("thunderbolt: Fix domain reference leak when DPRX read is canceled"); confirmed 3/3. Zgłosiłem zawieszenie wyłączania w nhi_pci_remove, gdy dock odłącza się w trakcie zamykania systemu, znalazłem sposób na jego odtworzenie i wysłałem logi z debugiem thunderbolta. Naprawione w 7.3 („thunderbolt: Fix domain reference leak when DPRX read is canceled”); potwierdzone 3/3.
• 2026-10 kernel drm/amd #5981 Reported a use-after-free in dc_stream_release after DPIA/MST teardown at boot with a TB4 dock, caught by linux-hardened; trace captured via pstore. Tested the proposed patch series; patches are in review at AMD. Zgłosiłem use-after-free w dc_stream_release po rozbiciu połączenia DPIA/MST przy starcie z dockiem TB4, wyłapany przez linux-hardened; ślad z pstore. Przetestowałem zaproponowaną serię poprawek; są w recenzji w AMD.

• WIP c norns A BSP window manager for the river Wayland compositor, with its own bar (urd): tags per monitor, mouse drag to swap and resize tiles, sliding animations, and two switchable looks — gruvbox and MU/TH/UR with a live starfield. Code written by Claude under my direction, used daily on my machine. • WIP c nebulights A Wayland screensaver with glowing ribbons and nebulae, inspired by the 3dfx-era Voodoo Lights. Code written by Claude under my direction, tested on my hardware. Wygaszacz ekranu dla Waylanda ze świecącymi wstęgami i mgławicami, inspirowany Voodoo Lights z czasów 3dfx. Kod napisał Claude pod moim kierunkiem, testowany na moim sprzęcie.
• WIP android narcissus A bike, run and walk tracker for Android that looks like a terminal on the Nostromo: raw GNSS, filtered distance, a session log with maps and a shareable story card. Code written by Claude under my direction, tested on my phone on walks, runs and rides. Licznik rowerowy, biegowy i pieszy na Androida, wyglądający jak terminal na Nostromo: surowy GNSS, filtrowany dystans, dziennik sesji z mapkami i karta relacji do udostępnienia. Kod napisał Claude pod moim kierunkiem, testowany na moim telefonie na spacerach, biegach i jazdach.
